Make something and join the fray! Towering head-pieces, burlesque body-extensions, performing objects, and cacophonous instruments are all welcome. Line-up starts at the Hudson Area Library at 1PM and we step off at 2PM. If you would like do donate your wearable art for a charity auction at Farm and Flea after the event, let us know!

HELP! How do I make a Mad Hat? Got any tips?

YES, we've got a whole workshop! Come to an all-ages Mad Hat Slam for hours of free drop-in Millinery Madness. We provide basic workshop materials and tools, augmented by any accessories you might want to bring, so let us know if you’d like to be informed, and stay tuned for other Mad Hat Slams around town.

I want to be in the Parade, but I’m not so crafty. Can I join even if I don’t make something?

YES, we have many Mad Hats (as well as giant puppets, masks, etc.) to wear and we need volunteers like YOU to bring them to life in the Parade. Just fill out our online volunteer form, and we’ll be in touch. No experience is necessary – one will be provided!

Do you need help making anything?

YES! Join us for a free puppet-raising, to help us create giant puppets, masks, and headwear for the Parade. All skill levels are welcome. The drop-in workdays run from 11 AM – 6PM at PAW's studio in Red Hook. Sign up on our online volunteer form or contact us to learn more!
